Now It's Possible:  Reversing Numbness with OraVerse

Now you can get on with your day after routine dental procedures thanks to a new product that reverses the effects of local anesthesia. This new measure of comfort is for patients who dislike the lingering numbness that can last for 3-5 hours after leaving the office.

To deliver superior care, we're always finding better ways to ensure your comfort and improve your dental experience, OraVerse is the first and only product proven safe and effective in accelerating a return to normal sensation and function after a local anesthetic containing a vasoconstrictor has been used. So now in about half the time, you'll be talking, smiling and drinking just like normal. And OraVerse can benefit nearly every patient, but is not recommended for children under 6 years of age or weighing less than 33 lbs.

We want you to have the most comfortable experience possible. It's a commitment that begins when you walk in the door and extends long after you leave. So if you'r among the many patients who dislike lingering numbness and its limitations, let's discuss whether OraVerse is the right choice for you during your next dental visit.

FLORIDA PROBE
Our office uses the latest in dental technology to provide our patients with optimal dental care. One of our newest technologies in diagnostic service is the Florida Probe, which checks for gum disease. This probe provides a standard measurement of the space between the gum and the tooth called a “pocket” electronically and accurately. The system records the periodontal exam, including missing teeth, recession, pocket depth, bleeding, root involvement, mobility and plaque assessment. The most important steps in treatment of periodontal disease are early detection and measurement of progress. You will have a clear and accurate picture of your periodontal health. The Florida Probe allows us to accurately monitor and track your periodontal progress to protect your beautiful smile for a lifetime.

DEXIS DIGITAL X-RAY
The installation of our new Dexis digital X-ray system enables us to provide greatly improved diagnostic capabilities to our guests while significantly lessening their exposure to radiation by up to 80% over the old film X-rays. Our guests find it is more comfortable than film, and it's a real time-saver over the old technology.

Digital X-ray technology also enables our guests to see their dental conditions for themselves. The digital X-ray image is instantly displayed on a large computer screen and can be enhanced and magnified to show conditions such as cavities or structural weaknesses in teeth. It's a wonderful tool for helping our guests to fully understand their treatment options.

DIAGNOdent

More and more patients place value on healthy and attractive teeth. In order to maintain them, the earliest possible detection and care is essential. Our DIAGNOdent laser helps us with early detection. Even very small cavities are detected at the earliest stage, allowing you to protect and preserve the tooth substance. The DIAGNOdent allows us to detect this decay before it becomes visible to our eyes or in x-rays, allowing you to protect and preserve healthy tooth structure. A tiny laser light is used to scan your teeth for signs of hidden decay. This new technology is completely safe and pain free.

SOFT TISSUE LASER

Our state-of-the-art soft tissue laser is used to gently reshape and recontour the gums to enhance your smile. It is also used to treat canker sores, apthous ulcers, fever blisters, and periodontal disease. Many of our guests who suffer from cold sores simply give us a call when they first feel that tingle on their lip. A quick swipe with the laser will insure a fast and easy duration of the lesion.

TEK-SCAN OCCLUSAL ANALYSIS

The T-Scan helps reduce the risk of:
• Implant failure
• Cosmetic case failure
• Traumatized teeth
• Unstable dentures
• Ineffective splints
• Porcelain fractures

Far too many patients develop common and some not so common dental problems that can actually develop to such severe levels that more complex dentistry is often required (root canals, extractions, replacing brand new crowns, etc.)
Tekscan is a company specializing in digital pressure sensoring equipment. Tekscan has a Dental Industry specific diagnostic device named T-Scan II that virtually eliminates guess work and "trial and error" methods of diagnosing the patient’s bite, or occlusal measurements.
Our office adapted this amazing technology that enables our patients to have unsurpassed accuracy of bite and occlusal data that is critical... for even the most routine dental work.

The 3-D representations are easy to comprehend and provide data that patients can easily understand, which can be critical in complex dentistry.

With the old method of using articulation paper to make marks on the teeth when the patient bites down, there is no correlation between the depth of the color and the mark, its surface area, amount of force, or the contact timing sequence that results as that paper mark is made.

Myth: When the patient states "it feels good, Dr." the bite is balanced
Fact: Patient perceptions are very poor indicators of occlusal (bite) balance

Definitive Bite Occlusion Analysis
Dr. Goodrick is available for an evaluation to assist patients in determining if certain occlusal (bite) problems currently exist for unusual dental complaints, as mentioned above.

Digital occlusal analysis is provided to our guests assuring the best possible cosmetic and functional outcomes.

CARESCOPE 360
The imaging capability of the CareScope360 intraoral camera becomes a powerful diagnostic, and decision-support tool. Your dental exam can now be accomplished by allowing you to see first-hand the condition of your mouth. You now have a true co-discovery process in which the eyes of the doctor become the eyes of hygienist, assistant, and most importantly you. Now everyone is on the same page. After seeing with their own eyes, most of our guests actively seek solutions. This has significant impact on the oral-systemic condition of our guests.

MAGNIFICATION
Dr. Goodrick and our hygienists work with magnification so they can see every detail of your mouth to fabricate precise and exacting dental restorations or achieve the most thorough cleaning possible for your mouth. The detail of the view is unbelievable.

VELSCOPE ORAL CANCER SCREENING
Did you know?…
Oral cancer kills one person every hour of every day in North America.
Oral cancer has three times as many victims as cervical cancer.
You are at an increased risk of developing oral cancer if you smoke, drink alcohol, and/or are over 40.
Alarmingly, while many of oral cancer victims are tobacco users, more and more are not. Recent studies have demonstrated a strong association between oropharyngeal cancer and exposure to HPV-16.
Nearly half of oral cancer patients are expected to die within 5 years of diagnosis, but it is 80 to 90% survivable if diagnosed early.
Unfortunately, only 35% of oral cancer cases are diagnosed in the early stages.
Fortunately, the VELscope System can help us to detect oral mucosal abnormalities that may not be visible or apparent to the naked eye, such as oral cancer or pre-malignant dysplasia. It is a technology platform based on the direct visualization of human tissue fluorescence and the changes in fluorescence that occur when abnormal tissue is present.
